There may be “foreign intelligence” involved in the manhunt for the assassin behind Wednesday’s murder of Charlie Kirk at a college campus in Utah, John Solomon told Fox News viewers.
Solomon, former editor-in-chief at The Washington Times, stated cryptically that his reporting has uncovered some type of foreign involvement in the aftermath of the shooting.
“We don’t have a shooter tonight. We have a couple leads. Couple people released that probably aren’t the shooter. There’s a couple of hot leads and a little bit of foreign intelligence,” he revealed.
It’s possible that Solomon could be describing intelligence provided to the U.S. by an allied nation, which may have been tracking the shooter in its own capacity. Authorities on Thursday morning said they uncovered spent shell casings matching the bullet that killed Kirk and engraved with transgender and anti-fascist ideological statements.
“I think over the next couple of days we’ll learn a lot more and hopefully bring to justice the evil person who did what they did to Charlie today,” Solomon added.

Kirk, 31, had just fielded a question from an audience member about the danger posed by transgender shooters like the one in last month’s attack at a Minnesota Catholic school when he was struck in the neck. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
A U.S. Justice Department official told the Wall Street Journal that an investigation into the shooter and their whereabouts is still in its preliminary stages. However, several pieces of critical information are known.
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed that the shooter appeared to be of “college age” and was able to blend into the campus following the ensuing chaos. FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls said his team has obtained “good video footage” of the individual and hopes it will lead to an identification.
“We are working through some technologies and some ways to identify this individual,” Bohls said, appealing to the media for their help.
Footage described at the press conference shows the individual “dressed in all dark clothing.”
“The only information we have on the suspect, the possible shooter, is taken from closed-circuit TV here on campus,” Mason continued.
“We do have that. We’re analyzing it. But it is security camera footage, so you can kind of guess what the quality of that is,” he added. “But we do know, dressed in all dark clothing. But we don’t have a much better description other than that.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, whose office may be parsing the foreign intelligence mentioned by Solomon, noted the grim date of Kirk’s death one day before the anniversary of 9/11.
“Today, on the anniversary of 9/11, we recognize that whether it’s Islamists like al-Qaeda, or the fanatics who try to stop Charlie Kirk and others from speaking the truth by banning them from campuses and ultimately by assassination, the one thing they have in common is that they are so afraid that their arguments, views, and policies will not stand when challenged in free and open debate, that they resort to violence — not only to silence the people they want to shut up but to terrorize everyone else into silence,” she wrote on X.
