“House of Cards” actress Robin Wright — most well known for her role as Jenny in “Forrest Gump” — recently bragged about fleeing the United States after discovering she enjoyed living at her brand new home abroad more.
“America is a s—show,” Wright told The Times of London. Wright, a winner of the coveted Golden Globe award, has been doing work in the U.K. while also spending time with her family in-country.
“I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind,” she added. Elaborating, Wright continued, “They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”
Wright, 59, later told the Times during the interview that she currently has plans to rent a home on the English seaside with her family and dogs.
“It’s liberating to be done,” she explained in the discussion. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted.”

The actress isn’t the only Hollywood celebrity to recently speak ill of living in America. Many of the “elite” in the entertainment industry have threatened to leave the country over President Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
Names such as Whoopi Goldberg, Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, George Lopez, Sharon Stone, Cher, and Barbara Streisand have all stated in the past that if Trump won the 2024 election, they would consider leaving America. Only a few actually followed through on their promise.
Rosie O’Donnell, the comedian, actress, and former co-host of “The View,” moved to Ireland.
According to other reports, many of these stars have been gushing about their new homes, just like Wright.
Former “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria revealed earlier this year that she and her husband, José Baston, “escaped” the U.S. along with their six-year-old son, Santiago, and are now living full-time at their homes in Central America and Europe.
While she decided to flee the country before Trump won last November, the actress said she believes his victory will make the country become a “scary place” if the president “keeps his promises.”
“I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky,” she commented. “They are going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and my sadness is for them.”
