On Thursday, a Democratic senator quietly introduced an amendment in the Senate Appropriations Committee to \u201cretain, preserve, and compile\u201d any records tied to Epstein and his case, and it passed unanimously, Scripps News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The amendment came from Sen. And that\u2019s exactly how he\u2019s framing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe goal is transparency,\u201d Van Hollen told Scripps News on Thursday. \u201cI think all of us, and I think the public, have an interest in knowing exactly how this case has been handled over the years. So that amendment does two things. It requires that all the documents be preserved. And second, it requires that they present a detailed report.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Asked whether he believed there was a cover-up, Van Hollen said, \u201cI just want to get the facts.
