President Donald Trump has not spoken with Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz after a political assassination sent shockwaves through the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an interview with ABC News\u2019 Rachel Scott, the president condemned the act of violence and referred to Walz as a \u201cterrible governor\u201d who is \u201cgrossly incompetent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, it\u2019s a terrible thing. I think he\u2019s a terrible governor. I think he\u2019s a grossly incompetent person. But I may, I may call him, I may call other people too,\u201d the president told Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president condemned the violence shortly after the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSuch horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump said his administration is looking to play a very active role in the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the Department of Justice is on the case after two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers were shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am closely monitoring developments in Minnesota after what appears to be a targeted attack against state lawmakers. The FBI is on the ground investigating this case alongside state and local partners. This horrific violence will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,\u201d Bondi said<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
