President Donald Trump says Americans won\u2019t have to wait much longer to see direct benefits from his tariff policies. In new comments made on Monday, President Trump revealed that the administration expects to begin issuing \u201ctariff dividend checks\u201d as early as the middle of next year, delivering thousands of dollars to middle and moderate income households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During remarks, Trump detailed how the United States has collected \u201chundreds of millions of dollars in tariff money,\u201d which he argues has both strengthened American industry and created a surplus that can now be returned directly to taxpayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to be issuing dividends later on, somewhere prior to, probably in the middle of next year, a little bit later than that, of thousands of dollars for individuals of moderate income, middle income. We\u2019re going to pay down debt. We have a lot of money from tariffs,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump reiterated that without aggressive tariff action, America\u2019s economic position would be far weaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf we didn\u2019t have tariffs, this nation would be in serious trouble. And we\u2019ve taken in tremendous amounts of money,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd you know what\u2019s more important than that? We\u2019ve protected our businesses from being raided like we did with the chip business. Now we\u2019re bringing them all back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe had one hundred percent of the chip industry, and then they left. They went mostly to Taiwan and South Korea, but mostly Taiwan. And they have almost one hundred percent,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
