The officer stormed up the dirt path, his boots crunching in the gravel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSir,\u201d he said, holding up the sign, \u201cdo you know anything about this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The old man squinted up at him, the corners of his mouth twitching. \u201cWell, officer, that depends,\u201d he drawled. \u201cIs that my sign?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\u201cNeighborhood Watch \u2013 Safety First!<\/strong> Slow down, smile, and enjoy your day!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\nThere was even a picture of a smiling cartoon cop giving a thumbs-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
