FBI Director Kash Patel has provided an update on the investigation of Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination, saying the FBI is \u201cpursuing every lead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested and charged with Kirk\u2019s murder, but Patel said the FBI is looking into the \u201cpossibility of accomplices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are meticulously investigating theories and questions, including the location from where the shot was taken, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the shot and bullet impact, how the weapon was transported, hand gestures observed as potential \u2018signals\u2019 near Charlie at the time of his assassination, and visitors to the alleged shooter\u2019s residence in the hours and days leading up to September 10, 2025,\u201d Patel said in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patel added, \u201cThe entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation into this assassination will continue until every question is answered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online messaging platform Discord confirmed reports that about two hours before Robinson was taken into custody, he posted messages to a small group of friends on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One message read, \u201cHey guys, I have bad news for you all \u2026 It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patel addressed the Discord message during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying that the FBI is investigating \u201canyone and everyone involved in that Discord chat\u201d with Robinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patel said there are \u201ca lot more\u201d than 20 people linked to Robinson on Discord, \u201cand we\u2019re running them all down. \u2026 Every single one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are a number of individuals that are currently being investigated and interrogated, and a number yet to be investigated and interrogated, specific to that chat room. So we are very much in our ongoing posture of investigation,\u201d Patel told senators, adding that other people could be involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson was charged with several crimes last Tuesday, including aggravated murder. Last week, prosecutors said they would seek the death sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson did not publicly plead guilty on Tuesday. Before his next court date on September 29, the judge told him that the court would give him a lawyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning Point USA announced Thursday that Erika Kirk, widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected as the organization\u2019s new CEO and chair of its board of directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn prior discussions, Charlie expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted in the event of his death,\u201d the organization said in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. His death stunned supporters and allies across the conservative movement and left the future of the group he founded in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, Turning Point USA\u2019s board of directors said its members were confident in Erika Kirk\u2019s leadership, pointing to her experience alongside her husband and her commitment to his mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was the honor of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie\u2019s side,\u201d the board said. \u201cCharlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests. And now, it\u2019s our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement described Erika Kirk as the natural successor to carry forward the late founder\u2019s vision of faith and patriotism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll of us at Turning Point USA have a special role in carrying Charlie Kirk\u2019s mantle and completing his vision of bringing us all closer to our Lord and fostering a prosperous country for generations to come,\u201d the board said. \u201cAs Charlie always said, \u2018We have a country to save.\u2019 We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie\u2019s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
