Two of President Donald Trump\u2019s closest allies nearly came to blows over the weekend when one accused the other of badmouthing him in front of Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at one point threatened to punch Bill Pulte \u201cin the f**king face\u201d for allegedly speaking unfavorably about Trump\u2019s top economic advisor. Pulte, a top housing official, was one of the guests at a much-anticipated inaugural dinner at Executive Branch, an exclusive Georgetown club run by Trump\u2019s network for his ultra-high-net-worth supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other guests at the event included Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Medicare and Medicaid chief Mehmet Oz, plus venture capitalist David Sacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a cocktail hour, Bessent reportedly lashed out at Pulte, saying several people told him the Federal Housing Finance Agency director had been badmouthing him, and he wasn\u2019t going to engage in chit-chat as if there was no bad blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy the f**k are you talking to the president about me? F**k you,\u201d Bessent told Pulte. \u201cI\u2019m gonna punch you in your f**king face.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least four individuals who witnessed the incident said Pulte appeared stunned. Club co-owner Omeed Malik intervened to break things up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s either me or him,\u201d Bessent said to Malik. \u201cYou tell me who\u2019s getting the f**k out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOr,\u201d he added, \u201cwe could go outside.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo do what?\u201d asked Pulte. \u201cTo talk?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Bessent replied. \u201cI\u2019m going to f**king beat your ass.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malik separated the men, who were ultimately seated at separate ends of the table for the dinner. The party went off without further incident, Politico reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump insiders described the encounter as \u201cbonkers\u201d and \u201cunhinged,\u201d underscoring the historic nature of the president\u2019s inner circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, Bessent and Pulte were nominated alongside Commerce Secretary Howard Ludnick to review a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the federal mortgage loan arms of the government. Pulte has taken the lead on the initiative, prompting complaints from Bessent, who views certain elements of the role as falling under his secretarial jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pulte, in turn, has bristled at the suggestion he is encroaching on Bessent\u2019s turf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of Trump\u2019s top advisors, Bessent has been the go-to voice on every economic matter from tax returns to tariffs and feels he has little time for the backbiting and recriminations common among White House insiders, sources told the outlet.
