Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is being called out by critics after he refused to respond to a question from a CNN host about when he was aware of former President Joe Biden\u2019s obvious mental decline while in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an interview with CNN\u2019s Kasie Hunt, the New York Democrat refused to directly answer the question, saying instead that he and his party were \u201clooking forward\u201d and focused on opposing President Donald Trump and the GOP, even if their policies are good for the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the upcoming book \u201cOriginal Sin,\u201d which was co-written by CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper and Axios\u2019 Alex Thompson and examines Biden\u2019s decline and the efforts made by those around him to conceal it, Hunt posed a question to Schumer that essentially echoed the classic inquiry: \u201cWhat did you know, and when did you know it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDid you really not have any idea that he was not fit to serve a second term?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKasie, we\u2019re looking forward. We have the largest Medicaid cut in front of us, we have the whole federal government at risk \u2014\u201d Schumer responded before Hunt cut him off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The host reminded Schumer that the central premise of the book was that Biden\u2019s apparent lack of fitness for office\u2014and his insistence on running again\u2014might be the reason the Democrats were facing a second term under President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward,\u201d Schumer repeated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
