{"id":2021,"date":"2025-08-29T00:32:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T00:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=2021"},"modified":"2025-08-29T00:32:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T00:32:05","slug":"shake-up-dems-revolt-over-who-trump-just-put-in-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=2021","title":{"rendered":"SHAKE-UP: Dems Revolt Over Who Trump Just Put in Charge"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Donald Trump plans to appoint his current deputy chief of staff, Dan Scavino, to lead the Presidential Personnel Office, which manages hiring and firing for White House staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDan Scavino is one of President Trump\u2019s most trusted and longest-serving advisors,\u201d White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to NOTUS on Tuesday. \u201cThere is nobody better to ensure the president\u2019s administration is staffed with the most qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers. There is much still to be done, and Dan\u2019s leadership will ensure the highest quality, most dedicated workforce ever,\u201d Leavitt added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scavino is a longtime Trump ally whose relationship with the president began when he worked as a golf caddie at the Trump National Golf Club in New York\u2019s Hudson Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also worked in the president\u2019s first term in several communication roles, including managing Trump\u2019s then-Twitter account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scavino will replace Sergio Gor, whom Trump appointed last week to serve as ambassador to India and as special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also Read : <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=1913\">Trump Admin Threatens Drug Makers With Price Controls<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSergio\u2019s role as Director of Presidential Personnel has been essential to delivering on the unprecedented Mandate that we received from the American People,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social announcing Gor\u2019s new post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor the most populous Region in the World, it is important that I have someone I can fully trust to deliver on my Agenda and help us, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gor said he was \u201cbeyond grateful\u201d for the nomination in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt will be the honor of my life to represent the United States!\u201d Gor added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Gor had a public dispute with then-Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk, who called him \u201ca snake\u201d after Gor helped facilitate the termination of Musk\u2019s pick to lead NASA, Jared Isaacman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Gor\u2019s leadership, the Presidential Personnel Office introduced loyalty tests in the hiring process to identify critics of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The office also questioned candidates on whether they supported Trump\u2019s claims that he won the 2020 election, according to The Washington Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, in a sweeping move that sources say amounts to a \u2018purge,\u2019 the Trump administration has fired three senior FBI officials\u2014each tied to the Bureau\u2019s investigation of the Capitol riot on January 6th\u2014a sign that the Department of Justice is done tolerating insubordination, leaks, and cover-ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brian Driscoll, who briefly served as acting FBI director at the start of President Donald Trump\u2019s second term, along with Steven Jensen, Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington Field Office, and veteran Special Agent Walter Giardina, were all informed they would be terminated, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/08\/07\/fbi-firings-trump-00499193\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driscoll, a 20-year FBI veteran, confirmed his dismissal in an internal email to colleagues obtained by NBC News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLast night I was informed that tomorrow will be my last day in the FBI,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI understand that you may have a lot of questions regarding why, for which I currently have no answers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driscoll had previously clashed with top Justice Department officials after refusing to turn over a full list of FBI personnel who worked on the January 6 investigations. In a memo from that time, he warned: \u201cThis request encompasses thousands of employees across the country who have supported these investigative efforts. I am one of those employees.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his farewell message, Driscoll&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/former-acting-fbi-director-involved-in-jan-6-investigations-fired\/ar-AA1K6Jsz\">said<\/a>, \u201cIt has been the honor of my life to serve alongside each of you\u2026 I regret nothing.
