But unlike many jobs, mine never puts me in physical danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Firefighting<\/strong> is a very different story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firefighters risk their lives every time they go on duty, and they rarely get enough credit for their courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I was younger, I dreamed of being a firefighter\u2014if my NBA career didn\u2019t work out\u2014but now I\u2019m just grateful others are brave enough to take on that dangerous role instead of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firefighters don\u2019t only rescue people from burning buildings or car crashes\u2014they also battle <strong>wildfires<\/strong>, which can be one of the most destructive natural disasters on Earth. The scene was terrifying\u2014but it also produced one of the most <strong>powerful and humbling images<\/strong> I\u2019ve ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A man named <strong>Pedro Br\u00e1s<\/strong> shared a photo that went viral: it shows a group of <strong>exhausted firefighters<\/strong> sleeping on the ground by a smoky riverbank.
