Six months after moving in, she showed up at my door with papers, demanding I pay her for the nine inches my fence supposedly encroached onto her property.     She hesitated, biting her lip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I could see the storm of pride and desperation battling inside her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Eventually, she nodded.
    “Fine. Deal.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
