Jasmine Crockett could be out of Congress after a new redistricting map was approved by a committee in the GOP-controlled Texas House on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new map creates five more Republican-dominated seats by eliminating current Democrat-held seats including one held by Crockett, who represents constituents near Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI currently don\u2019t live in the [Congressional District] 30 that they created\u2026that\u2019s not where I live now,\u201d Crockett said on Saturday in response to the newly drawn map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 JUST IN: Jasmine Crockett says the new U.S. House map in Texas will DRAW HER OUT of her district<br><br>Oh HELL yes! \ud83e\udd23<br><br>This HAS to pass now! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VFgHP8G7sJ\">pic.twitter.com\/VFgHP8G7sJ<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nicksortor\/status\/1951853514428236109?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 3, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Democrat accused state Republicans of creating the redistricting controversy, even after soliciting input from her and other incumbent members of Congress about their home addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are supposed to take that into consideration, and these are some of the things that the court will look at when they\u2019re trying to determine whether or not there were problems with creating the maps,\u201d Crockett complained, per&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/hot-mess-rep-jasmine-crockett-113140121.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Grio<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s really awful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is a hot mess, and it is so sad that these people have no integrity and could care less about doing what\u2019s right,\u201d said Crockett, without addressing the fact that Democrat-run states have gerrymandered their districts to alienate Republican voters for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crockett\u2019s mouth got her into trouble earlier this year over highly inappropriate remarks she made about Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While speaking at a Human Rights Campaign banquet in Los Angeles, Crockett took aim at Abbott, referring to him as \u201cGov. Hot Wheels.\u201d Abbott, who has used a wheelchair since 1984 after a tree fell on him while he was jogging, was paralyzed from the waist down in the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also Read : <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=1366\">Justice Dept. Arrests Leading Democrat<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The remark led U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-Texas) to call for her censure in the House. \u201cWords have meanings, and actions have consequences. I look forward to introducing my resolution to censure you for your words and actions,\u201d Weber wrote on the X platform after Crockett tried to explain away her comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have officially FILED the censure resolution against Rep. Jasmine Crockett,\u201d Weber said. \u201cShe must be censured and held accountable for the venomous rhetoric she spews as a representative of the Democratic Party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weber condemned Crockett\u2019s remarks as discriminatory, calling them the latest in a pattern of inappropriate behavior. He also pointed to a tense exchange during a May 16, 2024, congressional hearing, where Crockett clashed with Reps. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), as further evidence of her inflammatory rhetoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Censure is a formal reprimand issued by Congress to one of its members for \u201cdisorderly behavior\u201d that falls short of grounds for expulsion. If a majority of House members vote in favor, the resolution detailing the misconduct is read aloud on the House floor, with the censured lawmaker required to stand in the well of the chamber during the reading, NBC-DFW&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/texas-news\/house-censure-resolution-filed-against-jasmine-crockett-greg-abbott-comments\/3801287\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The censure vote never took place, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, Republicans are more than willing for her to become and remain the face of the Democratic Party moving forward \u2013 for as long as she remains in Congress, anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf Jasmine Crockett is a thought leader of the party, Democrats will stay in the wilderness longer than Moses did,\u201d Fox News host and former South Carolina GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy said in June before playing a clip of her nonsensical meltdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to know where to start with Ms. Crockett. She mocked the governor of Texas for being paralyzed. She conflates attention deficit disorder with insanity, which is both cruel and medically stupid. What she\u2019s really saying is that a majority of her fellow citizens voted for someone who\u2019s insane. So what does that make us? Here\u2019s some free political advice.
