{"id":1348,"date":"2025-08-02T00:00:52","date_gmt":"2025-08-02T00:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=1348"},"modified":"2025-08-02T00:00:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-02T00:00:53","slug":"mystery-orange-shape-spotted-near-epsteins-cell-night-before-death-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/states-news.com\/?p=1348","title":{"rendered":"Mystery Orange Shape Spotted Near Epstein\u2019s Cell Night Before Death: Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Forensic specialists are challenging the federal government\u2019s explanation for the enigmatic orange form that was seen on surveillance film taken on the last night of Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s life next to his prison cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 10:40 p.m. on the evening before the 66-year-old convicted sex trafficker was discovered hanging, the shadowy object, captured on video that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/jeffrey-epstein-jail-video-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBS News<\/a>&nbsp;was able to collect and examine, ascends the stairs to Epstein\u2019s cell block at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to forensic experts who spoke to the network as part of an examination into the jail video, federal officials had believed the pixelated blob was a corrections officer \u201ccarrying linen or inmate clothing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, they now believe it might have been an inmate wearing a jumpsuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBased on the limited video, it\u2019s more likely a person in an [orange] uniform,\u201d Conor McCourt, a retired NYPD sergeant and forensic video expert, told CBS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 10, 2019, Epstein was discovered dead in his cell. According to a combined DOJ-FBI investigation and an official autopsy, the disgraced billionaire committed suicide by hanging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the forensic specialists who talked to CBS News think the Justice Department\u2019s official investigation into the death of the convicted sex trafficker has serious problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DOJ supplied footage that showed the staircase is nearly completely hidden from view, despite the FBI\u2019s assertion that surveillance cameras would have recorded anyone entering or leaving the area where the multimillionaire was detained, according to the outlet\u2019s research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the camera cannot see the entrance to Epstein\u2019s cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the video doesn\u2019t seem to be uncut; according to the outlet, it\u2019s probably a screen capture, as shown by the menu and cursor that are visible on the screen. As CBS notes, nothing in its analysis changed or modified the OIG\u2019s conclusions or recommendations,\u201d the statement to the outlet read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just weeks after being charged with sex-trafficking dozens of girls, the DOJ confirmed earlier this month that there was no evidence that Epstein was murdered in his lockup, despite years of conspiracy theorists claiming otherwise.
