I’ve read about carbon copies, but this has to be something else,”<\/strong> Wendy commented as we watched the girls play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n“WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?”<\/strong> I asked, puzzled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n“Well,”<\/strong> Wendy began, lowering her voice slightly, “Sandra doesn’t know this yet, but I adopted her.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nI stared at her, stunned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Wait\u2026 what?”<\/strong> I asked, trying to make sense of it. “How old is Sandra?”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n“She just turned seven last month,”<\/strong> Wendy replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\nA cold rush went through me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Sophie\u2019s birthday is exactly the same. March 17th,”<\/strong> I said quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWendy blinked. Then her face paled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she woke up, the nurses told us the hospital had switched rooms and brought us the wrong baby at first. They quickly corrected it, and we didn\u2019t think much of it after that…”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nWendy stared at me, her mouth slightly open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I pulled out my phone and showed her a baby photo of Sophie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wendy gasped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“That\u2026 that\u2019s Sandra. I have the exact same photo. Except she’s in my arms.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
